About the name. (pixel - "room"). First things first, a pixel is to a design firm, what an atom is to all matter - its pretty essential, the core of our DNA you could say. Secondly, "ruum" is a Hebrew word that means "to exalt, to extol, to give, to hold up, to lift up, to be loud, to offer up, to promote and to set up taller or higher." What we do is all about promotion and being the heralds of a message. Our name, then, means that with the smallest element we have to work with, we are going to extol your message, and exalt your company, and by being excellent at what we do, we feel that we are also exalting the One we answer to. God is, after all, in the details.

Who we are. Pixelruum was started in 2001 by Christy Honea. It grew organically from the number of "side projects" that slowly took over her evenings, early-early mornings and weekends, until it became more profitable to stay home from work... to work. Except that it isn't work, it's love. And having attended the Art Institute of Dallas, worked for three other design/software firms in Austin, and trained several new (successful!) designers, her decade of experience in the industry has been fast-paced and diverse. Her love for artistic depth and detail bring emotion and style to the identity of the agency, and an insatiable desire to grow with the ever-changing faces of technology keep Pixelruum on the cutting edge of design industry trends. In her free time, she spends days kayaking in the hill country of Texas, playing guitar, writing poetry and blogging, traveling and studying international cultures.

Luke Dyer has been with Pixelruum since 2003 and brings a rare combination of qualities to the table with his comprehensive tech skills (that we think he was born with) and people friendliness. Having built his first computer at age fourteen, Luke hasn't looked up from gadgetland since he first dug his nose in, and his genius & passion for technology serve us well every single day. Luke brings an edge for harnessing and customizing the newest technologies for deployment on client sites, and adds to the rich entrepreneurial spirit of Pixelruum with his creative development of the hosting branch of our services. He has a problem solving ability that essentially means no wall is insurmountable for us and we basically think, well, that Luke knows everything. For fun, Luke is either with one of his zillions of friends or playing old school Nintendo. Hey, he's allowed to resist change on some level.
